Twitter celebrates Pakistan's T20I win over England with lots of memes

There were a lot of jokes made but the ones that were especially unfunny were the ones fat shaming Azam Khan.

When it comes to the Pakistan cricket team, the only world to describe them is unpredictable. After an ODI series loss to England, the men in green bounced back with a 31-run win in the first Twenty20 International at Trent Bridge on Friday.

Not only did the team win, it also made the highest ever total the country has made in a T20I.

Twitteratti were elated and we can't blame them.

For some people, seeing the team back in action meant it had secured a place in their hearts again.

Of course England might not be as happy to see the Pakistanis performing well.

Especially with the way the batsmen treated their bowlers.

But the batsmen must be on top of the world.

The match itself was intense.

There were many moments in the match that made us laugh but nothing came close to this one that led to many, many memes being made.

The spectacular catch resulted in some funny and NSFW memes.

Twenty-one-year-old Muhammad Hasnain won hearts with his bowling.

So did Shaheen Afridi.

People poked fun at certain YouTubers who must be at a loss right now.

But while all these memes were funny and we enjoyed them, what we didn't enjoy was people fat shaming Azam Khan.

There were many arguments online that said they were questioning his fitness as an athlete rather than fat shaming him but there were an equal or greater number of posts literally fat shaming him and making fun of his weight.

This journalist rightly reminded everyone of the right time to question selections.

You don't need to make fun of people to have a good time. Make memes about the match but stop making fun of someone for their physical appearance. It isn't right and it isn't funny.

So what, if Azam Khan is a little on the fatter side, but he is a great and much fatter with the bat for the opposition side. Keep it up Azam, and shame those who are being funny.

Bravo! Which adjectives and how many be used is certainly a baffling question to be honest simply because Babar and his team categorically out classed much fancied England in batting and bowling in 1st T 20 played before England home crowd. England captain Morgan won the toss and invited us to bat assuming his ace bowlers will limit Pakistanis to a low score and then his reckoned batters will easily score more than what Pakistanis had scored but alas he was grossly mistaken in his approach. Before I comment on the match itself let me just hurriedly say a few words about the ground realities. Just a couple of days before, England C team defeated us in all the 3 ODIs hence quite naturally Babar and his team players were demoralized and it was feared that they may not pick up the courage to play against England A team in T 20s but Pakistanis have proved to England and others that Babar team is not that weak as one may think of. I pray not wish we win series. zaidi4merdiplomat@hotmail.com

@John you probably watched the replay of the last ODI instead of the T20. You probably don't know that in the T20, Babar's "partnership" with Rizwan and late-over fireworks by Maqsood, Hafeez, and Fakhar allowed Pakistan to post a massive total.

@John Because it was just Babar who got Pakistan to 150-0 after 15 overs right? Rizwan scored 50 and the next three batsmen all played the short cameos that were needed from them. I will say though, the bowling was a bit wayward in some places.

@John guess, you didn't watch the same game as others. Babar, Rizwan, Fakhar and Hafeez in batting. Shaheen, Husnain and Shadab in bowling. If that's not the team effort then I don't know what is...
