Pakistani Twitter is celebrating Babar Azam for becoming the fast cricketer to reach 14 ODI centuries, beating Virat Kohli and several other international players.

Pakistan lost the match (and series) to England but Azam's brilliant 158 knock has set several records. It's Azam's highest one-day international score, made him the fastest player to 14 ODI centuries by number of innings and the first Pakistani captain to score a century in England in 38 years.

He also became the first Pakistani captain to score 150 runs in an inning.

Social media was full of celebrations for the Pakistani captain.

Some took weird satisfaction in his skill.

There was lots of fun being made of India's Kohli.

Others, like singer Asim Azhar, warned people to never doubt greatness.

Some fans had given up hope after Azam was out for a duck in the first ODI and 19 in the second. England won both those matches as well.

But they saw the 158 as a redemption for Azam, who previously dethroned Kohli to become the world's number one ODI batsman.

His innings received a standing ovation from fans at the Edgbaston Cricket Ground.

Fans compared him to another captain, the last captain to hit a century in England.

Others paid tribute to him and said this proved he wasn't a selfish player.

Some people believe he's a national treasure.

Take a bow, captain.

What was your reaction to the match and Azam's innings?
