Legendary British musician Roger Waters has no chill when it comes to Mark Zuckerberg. He refuses to take the billionaire seriously and ridicules him for being "one of the most powerful idiots in the world," turning down his offer to buy the rights to and use a Pink Floyd song for an upcoming film.

Zuckerberg tried to buy the rides to 'Another Brick in The Wall Part 2' for a movie promoting Instagram.

Waters was in New York City for an event to advocate for the freedom of Julian Assange, and during a panel, he pulled out a piece of paper and decided to tell a story.

The same day, he had been approached by Zuckerberg's team with a "request for the rights to use my song 'Another Brick in the Wall Part 2' in the making of a film to promote Instagram." He said that along with the request came an offer of a "huge, huge amount of money".

Waters' answer? "F*** you!"

He read out the document to a cheering audience. "We want to thank you for considering this project. We feel that the core sentiment of this song is still so prevalent and necessary today, which speaks to how timeless a work..."

He couldn't believe this was serious. "And yet they want to use it to make Facebook and Instagram even bigger and more powerful than it already is so that it can continue to censor all of us in this room and prevent this story about Julian Assange getting out to the general public so the general public could go, ‘What?! What? No. No more,'" he said.

Waters often uses his concerts to make political statements and share his views on the world and current events. He famously put Donald Trump's face on a giant floating pig during one, slamming the former US president for lying, ignorance, racism and sexism. Revealing that Zuckerberg was his next target, he said, “Zuckerberg features in my new rock ’n’ roll show. I’ve got him to sit — no, I shouldn’t tell you."

He also ridiculed Zuckerberg for his professional career. Facebook was born as a platform to rate people by their looks in his Harvard dorm room, which is not hidden from the public, but doesn't ring enough alarm bells. He went on about how Zuckerberg "started off by saying, ‘She’s pretty; we’ll give her a four out of five. She’s ugly we’ll give her a one' — how the f— did he get any power? And yet here he is one of the most powerful idiots in the world.”

Waters has never been one to cower before the powers that be and does not shy away from confrontation. Perhaps these qualities make him the legendary songwriter and creative genius that he is.
