Madiha Imam's new project Safar Tamam Howa is a family drama unlike any other
Actor Madiha Imam will be teaming up with Ali Rehman and Syed Jibran for a new drama serial that is "not like other shows we see on TV". The series, Safar Tamam Howa, will air on Hum TV.
Imam, who recently starred in Ek Jhooti Love Story, spoke to Images about the new project and her character.
The show is based off a novel of the same name by Rahat Jabeen. "People really loved the novel and I hope they love the show too," said Imam.
The teaser for the show was just released on social media.
Imam plays Anoushey, whom she describes as "different" because of some things that happened when she was a child. She's different from what we would usually expect and her upbringing has had an impact on how she is, she said, explaining that Anoushey "definitely has complications in her head and is different from how appears".
"She appears to be normal girl, but that’s not the case," said Imam. The show doesn't have family drama, so it's different from the usual dramas we see on TV. According to the actor, there are no mother-in-law and daughter-in-law fights or fights with a husband. "It's a family drama and everyone has their part to play," she said.
"There are differences, similarities and common traits, all of that is part of the story," she said, calling it refreshing and different from what we usually see.
Safar Tamam Howa is a Momina Duraid production and has been directed by Shehrazade Sheikh, whom Imam has worked with before.
The show is going to go on air on Tuesday at 8pm.
The show also stars Rehman of Heer Maan Ja and Parchi fame and Ranjha Ranjha Kardi's Jibran.
Imam is also currently working on a project with director Anjum Shahzad and actor Muneeb Butt for ARY, which is being produced by Abdullah Seja and a Ramazan play for Geo TV with Wahaj Ali, which is being produced by Syed Wajahat.
