At least 19 people were killed as record torrential rains wrecked Karachi on Thursday. Major thoroughfares and roads in several parts of the city still remain submerged in water and many areas continue to face power outages.

However, as reports began to emerge of flooding, devastation and deaths from all across the city, provincial government minister from the Pakistan Peoples Party, Saeed Ghani, tweeted videos of what seemed to be thoroughfares clear of rainwater.

But Karachiites were not having it, with many on Twitter shaming the minister and some also accusing him of misleading users on the microblogging platform.

Lebanon style dystopian politicking, with the only skill being teflon non-stick deflection techniques rather than any conception of accountability. The whole political class is a waste of public resources, self service rather than public service.
