Sources have confirmed to Variety that Disney is planning a sequel for their 2019 live-action reboot of Aladdin.
According to the producers, a script is in the works after which they hope to bring back original cast members Will Smith, Mena Massoud and Naomi Scott.
For now, it is unclear whether Guy Ritchie will get back in the director's seat.
This is will be a theatrical release and not a straight-to-DVD or should we now say, straight-to-Disney+ release.
Will the sequel be based on the animated straight-to-DVD sequel for the 1992 film? Because may we suggest skipping to the Forty Thieves and Aladdin's father? Just a thought.
