Rock band Junoon has made several comebacks of late - they've done one-off concerts, they've made new videos for old songs, and now it appears that they've finally managed to put together a brand new track.

Taking to Facebook yesterday, singer Ali Azmat announced, "Am proud to share this news with you that Junoon is working together on a track for the first time in 15 years to support the Pakistan Cricket Team!"

Yep, after the iconic Jazba-e-Junoon, the band is set to pay a fresh tribute to our talented cricket team as it heads for the World Cup that kicks off in England next week.

In a video shared with the announcement, Ali says of the song: "This song is for people from all over Pakistan, especially those people who are marginalised. Pakistan also belongs to them."

Junoon founder and guitarist Salman Ahmed said, "We have come together for the unity of Pakistan... Our cricket team will hold its head up high."

The song's release date is yet to be announced.

Please don't. When ever Junoon makes a cricket song it brings bad luck to the team. We are good with Junaid Jamshed's Dil Dil Pakistan. We used it in Champions trophy and we won it. So please have mercy on the team which is already struggling.

Why bother, the team can't even beat a club team and it is embarrassing.

Difficult position for Pakistan due to its economy and unfavourable geopolitical situation given American confrontation with China and Iran. Considering the pleasure and credit that Indian political leadership takes in creation of Bangladesh, it is very unlikely that the Indians will like to have any friendly relationship with Pakistan. Pakistan should forget about any improvement in this relationship and should concentrate on improving the economy and strengthening the armed forces especially our nuclear deterrence. That is the only option.

Junoon is a spent group from past. There many newer groups who can sing better.

If Pakistan Cricket team had even half the Junoon to paly as the Junoon to make a song for them it would have been much more optimistic scenario for Pakistan !! Song is not going to go any where ! it will just give the nation false hope ! This team is hopeless ! has lost 11 ODI in a row and to Afghanistan yesterday !!

The most encouraging thing they said was that they are making a video for all Pakistanis - including those that are marginalized. The first step to solving an issue is to acknowledge it.

Looking at our cricket team performance even if you bring back Michael Jackson alive to sing it won't make any difference.

@Sab Se Pehle Pakistan It's by Vital Signs and produced by Shoaib Mansoor. Actually I feel the vocals by Junaid Jamshed is the weakest part of the track. .
