Thora Jee Le director Rafay Rashidi has roped in Mohsin Abbas Haider to join his web series Baadshah Begum.

Speaking to Images, the actor revealed that when Rashidi had approached him for the project, they both had different characters in mind for Mohsin.

"Rafay and I were discussing this [project] for a while, we were trying to finalise a few things like the characterisation," said Mohsin. "I was interested in another character but when I read the script of the one that Rafay had pitched to me, I connected to it, so we're going with that now."

The story, which revolves around sibling rivalry, will see Mohsin's character as the most level-headed one of the lot. "My character is controlled, composed and calm. I play the brother who is the most understanding and mature."

The Na Maloom Afraad star says he chose to sign the project because he found it interesting and off-beat. "You know I like working on offbeat stories. and I felt I should do this," he added.

Mohsin will be joining Faysal Qureshi and Iman Ali for the shoot in October.

Baadshah Begum is about sibling rivalry – and power struggles within a family and community. The plot revolves around themes of inheritance, family politics, gender inequality and male dominance. Qureshi's character will be playing the arch villain in the story, which has been written by Saji Gul of O Rangreza fame.
