These men praise their wives in public. On Valentine's Day, be like them

Tacky 'wife jokes' are out. Celebrate your spouse instead!
14 Feb, 2019

Last year former Chief Justice Saqib Nisar passed an unseemly 'wife joke' during an address to fellow judges and lawyers. He recounted a story about a colleague of his who was fighting with his wife to make a point and said, "when you don't have peace how can you deliver justice?"

The former CJ was one of a long line of men who find it amusing to make fun of their wives and marital affairs in public.

Thing is, it isn't funny.

While it's fine to discuss your relationships in private with friends, using your significant other as the butt of a joke in public is humiliating, derogatory, and also sexist.

Thankfully, a few good men have found a way to turn this trend on its head. The following men have made it a habit to lift up the women in their lives instead of bringing them down. Be like them!

1) Shoaib Malik's unconditional support for Sania Mirza

When Sania wanted to speak out about unrealistic expectations faced by new moms, Shoaib was there to support her.

2) Ranveer Singh's admiring comments on literally everything Deepika Padukone posts

Here's a man who isn't afraid to call his partner a queen.

3) Virat Kohli calling Anushka Sharma "his strength"

While some men hate the idea of weakness, here Virat Kohli credits his wife for teaching him how to be strong.

4) Shah Rukh Khan's praise of Gauri Khan

Here he is bowing down to her dancing skills, and that's high praise coming from Bollywood's biggest star.

5) Akshay Kumar celebrating Twinkle Khanna's professional achievements

When Twinkle Khanna released her book, Akshay was right there to promote her!

Isn't that sweet? Here's to better relationships and celebrating the one you love.

Why its always has to be a men to praise his wife? Why cant you give the same advice to wives too? According to your double standards its ok to make fun of husbands everywhere but men must praise wives

I think we should replace Problem word with Man. Every mishap in the world is because of man...

Wives need to be taken care of every day. Not just on Valentine’s Day. Therefore I am not a fan of Valentines Day.

@ABC Both men and women should praise their spouses, and not just on Valentines Day.

The best visible example of mutual respecting couple in public life is Shabana and Javed Akhtar.... They don't even need words . Their body language when is so suggestive of their mutual respect..
