Let nobody's opinion define who you are, says Mahira as she's announced L'Oréal spokesperson

Mahira Khan is the first Pakistani to join L'Oréal Paris' illustrious roster of celebrity spokespersons
Updated 17 Oct, 2017

Mahira Khan made an appearance on the runway on the final day of PLBW last night, but not as showstopper for a designer.

The Verna actor was announced as the newest celebrity to join L'Oréal Paris' illustrious roster of celebrity spokespersons, making her the first Pakistani to earn that distinction. Mahira is the Official Spokesperson for L'Oréal Paris Hair Care in Pakistan. She joins the ranks of Bollywood stars like Aishwariya Rai and Deepika Padukone as well as international luminaries such as Naomi Watts, Eva Longoria and Helen Mirren.

Wearing an oversized all-white power suit, Mahira took to the PLBW runway and shared a few thoughts, "It gives me great pleasure to be part of this family called L'Oréal Paris. Its spirit, its ethos celebrates women empowerment. It celebrates [their] beauty as well as [their] success. It celebrates their worth...," she said to cheering fashion week attendees.

#MahiraKhan has a message for women and she wants you to listen up!!! She's on 🔥! #plbw17

She continued to roaring applause, "Through life's ups and downs, and the few mistakes we make and all the successes that we get, let nobody, nobody's opinion define who you are. And if anybody defines who you are, let it be yourself. Because including me and all the women out there, we're all worth it!"

What a fitting answer to her recent critics!

In my opinion if we don't let other people to opinion about us than how we come to know that who we are? Actually we want to listen only praise about us. We don't let others to criticize us. Actually we don't want to listen reality about us. When you become public figure people notice every moment of your life. People seeing you as god or goddess who doesn't have any fault. We are living in the world not in heaven that no one criticize us. This is part of the game sometime we win and sometime we lose.

When you are a celebrity of any culture then you must follow the norms of that society. Don't try to be Kawa chala Hans ke chal . Women in the west still don't have empowerment, Harvey W example is now not long ago. Let alone in our culture you can have freedom but within boundaries.

@N abidi : Why do you guys keep using MUSLIM word. Is it always required to bring religion in. Why couldn't you just say 'PAKISTANI'?

She is one of the many celebrities who are highly influential in the new generation of Pakistan, so please keep in mind these so called celebrities are being used and paid loads of money to bring change, not for the good but for that freedom the west wants to see. and ladies gentlemen you will see the effects of it in years to come.

You are a great artist of this generation but smoking in public is not women empowerment, there are other ways to make women success. Learn from your life ups and down, being educated doesn't mean that your forget your culture, family values and dignity. You are a single mother be proud of it, be a role model to all the mothers.
