A new animated film Allahyar and The Legend of Markhor is in the works and its first teaser tells us it's one to watch out for.

The teaser is a close representation of Pakistan's awe-inspiring natural landscapes and its focus on our national animals has piqued our interest.

Images got in touch with 3rd World Studios, the production house behind the film, to know more.

Associate Producer Eyad Ibrahim reveals about the film, "[Allahyar and The Legend of Markhor] follows a young boy as he discovers the magical world of animals and goes on a journey that explores the relationship between humans and their sentient neighbours on earth."

According to Ibrahim, the film will have something for the whole family, so isn't just for children.

"We’ve tried hard to create a balance. The film comes together with different elements that combine to enthral audiences of all ages, giving everyone an entertaining story that they can relate to."

He adds, "Who doesn’t love talking animal films?" and we agree.

What sets Allahyar and The Legend of Markhor apart from other films is the heavy influence of Pakistan's nature and wildlife.

"We [at 3rd World Studios] as Patriots, have chosen the national animal [markhor], national heritage animal [snow leopard] and the national bird [chukar partridge] as the stars of this film. It is a film that addresses some of the prevalent issues facing us today and is chock-full of masterfully camouflaged social commentary. For example, the concept of wildlife conservation is almost non-existent in our country. We believe that if we want to change this, we have to educate the people and entertain them at the same time."

So far, the film has gotten the likes of Ali Noor, Natasha Humera Ejaz and Arieb Azhar on board. Natasha has recorded a song for the film and Arieb Azhar will be playing a character in the film. Ali Noor will be doing both!

The film will be directed by Uzair Zaheer Khan and he is joined by Azfar Jafri (director of Janaan) in his crew.

About 3rd World Studios, Ibrahim says that the company arose from the desire to fill a void in the industry.

"Clean, wholesome entertainment for the youth is rare in Pakistan today. 3rd World Studios wants to promote elements like our language, customs, and values, so as to instill pride in our people towards this great nation."

While Allahyar is still in production, Ibrahim promises that we'll be "hearing the good news [i.e. a release date] soon."

But wait, no one will see it. People only watch syed noor films. O man, they should have taken up syed noor as the director so that he would have added a female blind dolphin that drinks and dances. The title would have been "Markhor aye na". and ofcourse Allahyaar would have killed the female blind dolphin and no one would care.

Trailer/Teaser was nothing less than any Pixar or Disney animated movie, all previous efforts like 3 Bahadur 1 & 2 and other productions have given this industry a momentum to flow on for success! Great Going! :-)

This sure looks good, but I cannot understand how making a simple animated movie is getting so much press? Surely its not considered a measurement of pride or success. Ist this setting the bar too low?

@Amish not at all. Appreciating decent effort is never a bad thing. You're reading too much into this. It is the step towards quality that is important and this trend deserves praise.

Looks pretty ordinary and what is with the frown on every animated character in all the movies coming out of the sub-continent.

@Ahmed Its a Rip off. But we need to support the local industry. Original or not should not be the issue.

Mowgli series of 80's had better animation in comparison. It's 2017. Please move with the latest trend and adopt new technology not 80's era style of story telling and technology.
