In just two lines, Saba Qamar captures the true essence of social media sensation Qandeel Baloch.

Baaghi, Urdu 1's upcoming TV drama on Qandeel's life, has become the talk of the town and not just because it's based on the internet sensation but also because the talented Saba Qamar is essaying the role - the teaser is proof of her acting prowess!

It starts with Saba Qamar saying, "None of it bothers me at all," and ends with her calling everyone a liar. An apt description of the prevalent hypocrisy in our society.

In 14 seconds, the teaser shows Qandeel's life and her treatment at home by her father and brothers.

In an earlier interview with Saba, the actor told Images, "Qandeel represented the double standards that exist in our society. She had the courage to expose how two-faced people could be."

And Saba is determined to play the role, regardless of threats that could follow. “Let them follow,” shrugs Saba. “Everyone has to die someday. I’d rather die after doing something worthwhile."

The drama also stars Sarmad Khoosat, Osman Khalid Butt and Ali Kazmi.

It was wrong the way she was killed... but why to glorify her wrongs? Pray for her Soul if you care.

@Haider khan People should be allowed to feel what they feel. Right or wrong is subjective. Basic human rights.

@Mani Sure, but they should express these feelings in private We live in a society where moral values are still given a bit of importance

Balch was a woman of extraordinary ability and courage. She also exposed some of the ugly faces in our society as well as accentuated women's rights of freedom. The rest of things that a few people took aim at appertained to her personal choices. Hopefully, it is going to be a great drama that will be going with a bang.

@Haider khan Your just being a typical male. Why not show the way she was killed by a man her own brother who is suppose to take care of her. she was killed just because she was a woman who got out of typical life style and wanted to improve her life and her families life. I think every male should watch this and learn that they cannot and should not stop the girls of the family if they want to move on to today's world by doing what they like or desire to be

@Haider Khan There is a veneer of respect for moral values. When you dig beneath the surface, what you find is men misbehaving at the sight of a woman, women often being murdered for taking charge of their own lives, honour killings, parents killing their own children, children and young people being used and abused for sex, forced conversions of non-Muslims, the list goes on, as so many articles in Dawn have illustrated over the years. Qandeel was very gutsy for bringing to the fore so much of the hypocrisy that lurks under the cloak of religiosity, which didn't sit well in certain quarters. From the way she comes across, Saba seems to have captured the essence of what Qandeel was really all about.

@Chris Roberts agree with you. The QB incident and comments from pakistani male on this site only reinforce the double standards of Pakistani society under the garb of cultural and religious values.

What a stupid movie. Media need to leave some people alone after their death and not exploit the situation
