Fawad fans are having a Twitter meltdown over his Filmfare 'snub'

Fawad fans are having a Twitter meltdown over his Filmfare 'snub'

Fawad was up for his second Filmfare win, but lost out to his Kapoor & Sons co-star Rishi Kapoor
Updated 15 Jan, 2017

The 62nd Filmfare Awards took place last night and the winners list has sparked off quite a few reactions.

We can't tell who's more disappointed about Fawad not winning a Filmfare — Fawad himself or his legions of die-hard fans!

They were really rooting for him.

Like, really rooting...

While Fawad hasn't yet commented on his nomination or congratulated his Kapoor & Sons/Ae Dil Hai Mushkil team for their wins, 'Fawad-ians' are rallying on Twitter to speak out against his non-win.

Can we blame them for breaking down?

Someone smells a conspiracy:

Some were adamant that it was Fawad's award:

Others thought he deserved even more:

Poor Rishi Kapoor's been caught in the cross-fire.

Ouch. Another burn:

People thought Ratna Patak Shah has also been snubbed:

Here's some consolation for Fawad.

Way back in 60's, Dilip Kumar made Ganga Jamuna and Raj Kapoor made Jis desh main ganga baheti hai. Dilip Kumar was denied the best actor filmfare award for his super performance in the movie, while trashy acting of Raj Kapoor got him that year filmfare award. Past history of giving awards to trashy performance is all in the history books.

We all know how the Indian public feels about Pakistan ? and Filmfare is an Indian magazine which reflects the Indian's feeling. And of course we all know that this movie would have gone down the drain without him and her.

Who cares. It's not like it's the Oscars. Btw, has anyone else noticed that that Cutipie song starring a dancing Fawad was completely wiped out of YouTube. Jealous Modiites?

@Fida ..so if we go by your logic, Dilip saab didn't deserve all the other filmfare awards either, someone else who was more deserving did..right? Just because someone whom you expected to win-doesn't win, doesn't give you the right to criticize the actual winner's performance -be it awards show or sports.

Of course Rishi's performance was much superior. As a Pakistani, I would have been upset if the award had gone to Fawad. Let's support the 'Talent' and 'performance'. Rishi did a great job..

To be fair, Rishi is a far more accomplished actor than Fawad, who is merely a pretty face.

@Fida this is not correct Raj Kapoor had talents and in Jis Desh Mein Ganga Behti Hai was a super hit movie compare to Ganga.Jamna. Dilip Kumar is also a talented actor and much liked in so many award winning films like Madhumati. Leader. Etc etc.

You want India to give him a role in Indian films and at the same time give him awards. Don't have such high expectations....Indian movie industry will only recognize great talent.

That's true. For real talent, awards don't matter. So why whine, and this hue and cry! Actions speak louder than words and Fawad Khan is resilient in his acting that speaks above everyone in the run for Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, etc. He is in line with the great Dilip Kumar, Omar Sharif, Marlin Brando to name a few.

There are plenty of Indian actors who were in the industry for a long time did not win even a single Filmfare Award. Dharmendra was one of them although he was the heart throb of millions of girls. Being nominated is a honor just like if you are nominated at Oscars. To both Indian and Pakistani people please do not make this a race issue. Do not fall for hate creating people who have nothing to do but create hate.
