So on Black friday, everyone is putting things on sale because of west customs. Trying to make it a day like in US or Europe and to increase sale volume. On Ramadan they don't do such sale in Pakistan?, despite largest sale volume achieved in Eid season . Bad Strategy or blindly following the west one if it is true.

@asad Trust a pious pakistani to drag religion in a purely business context. FYI black friday was named as such because retailers back in the day usually faced losses throughout the year which was marked with red ink. Then a day evolved in which most retailers began to give discounts on all sorts of products (this was done after the Thanksgiving ie the last friday of nov, beginning of shopping season for christmas). This sale drew customers in droves and hence retailers would earn profits which was denoted on the books with "black" underline or whatever. Hence the day came to be called as Black Friday. There are you happy now? Or do you still have offended religious sensibilities? Gosh some people! It does suck though knowing that people aren't necessarily after your religion all the time.

What is Black Friday? This year for the first time in Pakistan we're seeing a big promotion of Black Friday sales. Many people don't know the history & surprised to see lot of projection and messages from different companies. I'm sharing the brief history of Black Friday below. For millions of people in the West particularly in the US, Black Friday is the time to do some serious Christmas shopping —even before the last of the Thanksgiving leftovers are gone! Black Black is the Friday after Thanksgiving, and it's one of the major shopping days of the year in the United States -falling anywhere between November 23 and 29. While it's not recognized as an official US holiday, many employees have the day off -except those working in retail. The term “Black Friday” was coined in the 1960s to mark the kickoff to the Christmas shopping season. “Black”refers to stores moving from the “red” to the “black,” back when accounting records were kept by hand, & red ink indicated a loss &black a profit
