Selfie explained: Pakistani model Sadia Khan may act opposite Akshay Kumar
Last week, Mann Mayal star Maya Ali and model Sadia Khan were spotted in India. We guessed a Bollywood film may be in the offing, and Maya Ali confirmed that they've been offered a role, but offered no other information.
Her maybe co-star, Sadia Khan, however, has dished the deets.
In a conversation with Images, she revealed that Maya and her were approached by Lyca Productions, "the same company that made [the Tamil version of] Ghajini".
Sadia said that she's in talks for the female lead opposite Akshay Kumar in the film Ikka, which according to India Today, is a remake of Tamil blockbuster Kaththi.
Earlier reports suggested that Sadia was approached for an item number, but she says that news is erroneous. "It's not a song, but a whole film. I've read the script, and the role offered is fantastic," Sadia spoke to Images.
So, has Maya Ali dropped out of the talks? "It's too early to answer that since the talks are still in progress," she said.
So, what's Ikka all about?
The original film Kaththi (2014) revolves around two lookalikes and focuses on farmers' suicide due to corporate encroachment.
According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, Akshay is said to play a double role in Ikka, one of a thug and other of a post-graduate. He will begin shooting for Ikka after his upcoming Rustam hits the screens on August 12 this year.
The film will be shot over a period of two months. "The story will travel through Kolkata, Chennai, Mumbai and Bangkok, but will be filmed entirely in Chennai," added the source.
