5 bridal looks from BCW that we'd actually wear

We've bring you the best from the three-day bridal extravaganza
Updated 09 May, 2016

Brides watching Bridal Couture Week have some serious sifting to do.

The bi-annual fashion event may be the go-to guide for the latest in bridal fashion for TV audiences watching at home, but it is also a commercial platform. In other words, all sorts of designers show at BCW, from the coveted likes of Fahad Hussayn and Tena Durrani to those trying to get their foot in the market door, whom we'll leave unnamed.

Still, there were some winners, and here are our picks of the best from Bridal Couture Week:

1) This Fahad Hussayn jacket

This look harks back to his much-raved-about Pultighar collection for PLBW back in 2014, which may be why we like it so much. It's perfect for a mehendi/mayoon/dholki bride who wants to make a statement as she sweeps into the room.**

2) This citrusy lehnga from the Bibi London showcase

It gives a slightly modern upgrade to the traditional yellow jora for a mehndi bride.

3) Nickie Nina's farshi ghararas

The designer duo from Lahore prove that farshi ghararas can never go out of style. These would be an investment, brought out from the family treasure chest to pass on as heirlooms.**

4) Umar Sayeed's black bridal

Sayeed makes black work for wedding wear, with gara-like work fulfilling the requisite embroidery criterion for bridal wear.

5) Sonya Battla's simple outfit

Both the sherwani and anarkali are proof that understated elegance exists for brides and grooms, even in Pakistan. Sonya Battla is a godsend for to-be couples who agree less is more.**
