‘Kahaani 2’ is a go, Vidya Balan to act in film: Sujoy Ghosh
Vidya Balan fans, we have good news: There will be a sequel to Kahaani (2012), the Sujoy Ghosh mystery film that starred Balan as the pregnant protagonist in search of her missing husband, reports Indian Express.
The director confirmed this to Indian news agency PTI:
“Yes, Kahaani 2 is happening. It is in pre-production stage. Vidya Balan will star in the film. Major parts of the film will be shot in Kolkata,” Ghosh said. The hope is that Balan will retain her position in the cast as the central character.
Balan will next be seen making a special appearance in Ribhu Dasgupta's T3EN, which also stars Amitabh Bachchan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Sujoy Ghosh has produced the film.
Our fingers crossed for Vidya's upcoming films. After winning over a legion of fans and blazing a trail for other women actors with the unconventional roles she took up, Vidya's seen her acting career take a dip with more misses than hits. Let's hope T3En and the Kahaani sequel helps the star get back on track.
