Vidya Balan can be the next me: Waheeda Rehman

If there's an actor who should be on the seventh sky it should be Vidya Balan! Veteran actor Waheeda Rehman just stated that she can see herself in the very talented Vidya.

Sharing the couch with another legendary actor Asha Parekh on The Anupam Kher Show — Kuch Bhi Hosakta Hai, Waheeda Rehman didn't mince words when she talked about Vidya: “The one actress I can look at and say she could be the next Waheeda Rehman is Vidya Balan."

Vidya, who has won many awards including National Film Award and Filmfare, doesn't believe in the beauty standards set by the industry and continues to amaze audience by her powerful performances in films like Ishqiya, Kahaani and Dirty Picture.

Waheeda Rehman, who has been off the screen for a while now, was seen playing Dadi in Abhishek Bachchan-starrer Delhi 6.

Waheeda Rehman is not Tamil -- She was born in Vijaywada which is in Andhra Pradesh-- Her mother tongue is Telugu -- she may be knowing Tamil language but that is it...

@M.Saeed Not 'ameliorate' but 'emulate'. Anyway, not just she, but most Indians who are familiar with Waheeda's body of work including Amitabh Bacchan who himself is an icon - have the highest regards for Waheeda's contribution to Bollywood.

Waheeda Rehman is a Telugu Muslim. Vidya is from Palghat with Tamil/Malayalam origin. She is brought up in Maharashtra and is not fluent in Tamil or Malayalam. She is more comfortable with Hindi and Marathi and has learned Bengali too. She is playing the role of Geeta Bali in Marathi film "Mee Albela" which is a biopic on Bhagwan.

Vidya Balan is a Malayalee, born inKerala,her parents are Tamil Brahmins.In Palghat there are so many Tamil Brahmins settled for generations.But they are Malayalees as much as Tamil.Her second cousin Priyamani is also a good actress and acts in many Malayalam,Tamil,Kannada,Telugu along with Hindi just like Vidya.Vidya is settled in Mumbai and her husband is a Bengali.She acted in many Bengali movies too.
