Bollywood fans should pencil this in on their calendars: a thriller film TE3N, which will bring together three of the industry's best actors – Amitabh Bachchan, Vidya Balan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui – will be ready for release in mid-2016.

According to Filmfare, the thriller film is being directed by Ribhu Dasgupta, who helmed the senior Bachchan's TV mini-series Yudh.

Bachchan is reported to have signed on to the project without even seeing the script.

The film's creative producer Sujoy Ghosh said, “One day, we were chatting with (Amitabh Bachchan) sir and Ribhu sketched out the idea to him. He reacted instantly saying he was doing the film. When we told him we didn't even have a script, he instructed us to write one. He agreed to the film on the basis of just a thought.”

Nawazuddin also didn't hesitate to sign the film, but the producer was most worried about Vidya's agreement. He wanted an actress who could match the calibre of the actor, and Vidya had recently rejected a spate of films, including ten biopics.

Luckily for TE3N, she was impressed with the film's plot and agreed to appear in the cameo role they had planned for her.

The film, which is set in Kolkata, is going on the floors next month.
