Mahira Khan and Humayun Khan's film Bin Roye is a dramatic romance, but how many of us know about all the drama that happened off screen?

It's not wrong to say that a separate film could be made on the shoot itself. We've heard stories of a haunted house, actors getting saved by their luck, extreme weather conditions and the precision of a mysterious 'magic hour'!

While hoping for the best is indeed the wise thing to do, here are the six things that you didn’t really know about Bin Roye:

1. Fawad Khan was the original choice for Irtiza:

After the thundering success of Humsafar it was obvious that no one could outdo the perfect jori of Mahira Khan and Fawad Khan but sadly it wasn't possible for the latter to play Irtiza (played by Humayun Saeed) because of date issues. After all Fawad did have projects like Khoobsurat on his plate. Nevertheless, fans can still pine for both of them to unite on screen for some other project.

2. Mahira and Humayun were about to fall into a ditch!

By now it's evident to all that Saba (Mahira Khan) and Irtiza (Humayun Saeed) are made for each other and are bound to fall in love but during an intense scene during a shoot in the US, both Mahira and Humayun fell down — literally.

Had lady luck not been accompanying them that day, the two would have ended up falling right in a deep ditch not too far from where they fell. With Humayun having his fair share of accidents, we're thankful their fall wasn't serious!

3. Bin Roye or Jeepers Creepers?

Bin Roye is definitely a drama-romance but guess what: the set location in Karachi is meant to be haunted! Aman house, known to be a historical site in Karachi, gave the actors goosebumps as they shot lively scenes in the house (neighbours have even said people can hear a child crying inside, yikes!).

Their fears spiked a sanitation worker on set claimed he felt somebody slapped him. No wonder Mahira would indeed be right when she said she heard a scream during the shoot!

4. An actor fainted: not from fear but from the heat!

We all know that Armeena Rana Khan hails from England. That might explain why she was susceptible to Karachi’s extreme heat. During the shoot about two years ago, she fainted on the set because she could not bear the heat.

While Armeena was one person who got badly affected by the heat, the rest of the crew also bore the brunt as initially there were no ACs in the house where they were shooting. Everyone had to do a hard job trying to look at their best on screen as they fought off all that sweat...

5. Shooting would sometimes stretch for 48 hours:

Two years ago it was popular news that Momina Duraid was making a film but the people weren’t very hopeful that it would reach its culmination. Now that the film is set for general release, we've been told it's all thanks to the cast and crew's sheer dedication, which often had them shoot scenes late into the night.

Once the team even shot for straight 48 hours! And even though Mahira took a leave from the shoot when her son took ill, she was doubly dedicated after.

6. No partying outside the set:

Remember how we check out celebrities’ Instagram accounts when they go abroad for a shoot? But during Bin Roye's shoot in Santa Barbra Momina Duraid kept a watchful eye on her team and did not allow them to leave the location to explore the city — she wanted them to stick to the schedule!

Co-director Shehzad Kashmiri, who is very particular about shots being taken during the ‘magic hour’ (the first and last hour of sunlight) might be to blame for this. Mahira had to be up all night so she could shoot during the much-awaited magic hour.
