Celebrities are known for their flawless skin. At least that’s what we’ve seen on TV or in movies. A lot goes on behind the screen to perfect that skin and we’ve finally got a glimpse behind the curtain as Saboor Aly just shared her skincare routine.

Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, Aly wrote, “Let me show you some of my favourite skincare products,” sharing nine skincare products that she loves.

The Ordinary’s squalane cleanser

The Ordinary’s squalane cleanser is Aly’s first favourite product that she shared with her followers. “Cleansing is important in order to maintain healthy looking skin,” wrote the Parizaad actor.

This product is described to be a gentle cleanser that removes makeup and leaves the skin feeling gentle yet clean. Because of the squalane, it is considered to be moisturising and suits all skin types.

Rijja Skincare’s maxac face wash

We love it when celebrities use local products. Aly shares Rijja Skincare’s maxac face wash and told her followers to never go to bed without taking off their makeup. We second this!

Perhaps she uses a double cleansing method starting with this face wash before the squalane one.

This face wash is advertised as serving six purposes — it removes dirt and skin impurities, helps clear out pores, soothes and restores skin clarity, nourishes and heals acne prone skin, energises tired looking skin and gives a healthy complexion. It features purified water, glycolic acid, glycerin and sodium olivate (fatty acids).

Glow Recipe’s watermelon glow toner

Aly wrote that as her third step, Glow Recipe’s watermelon glow PHA + BHA pore-tight toner “helped” her a lot. The toner has a slight pink tint and watermelon scent to it. It is described as a toner that hydrates and tightens your pores all at once.

On its website, Glow Recipe says that its watermelon toner is inspired by a Korean peel facial that focuses on the duality of exfoliating and hydrating the skin at the same time. Their toner says it helps achieve glowing and pillow-soft skin instantly.

Hira Ali beauty’s retinol starter serum

Aly’s next product was the Hira Ali Beauty retinol starter serum. The first step to introducing retinol into your routine is understanding what it is. Retinol is derived from Vitamin A and it’s primarily used to treat mature skin as well as acne. It targets fine lines, wrinkles, sun spots, uneven skin tone and texture, melasma and enlarged pores. However, it needs to be used in moderation.

Aly called Hira Ali Beauty’s retinol starter “the best” she has ever tried and told her followers to give it a try. Retinol can be incorporated in your skincare routine before moisturiser at night. Remember to use a pea-sized amount on slightly damp or wet skin for even distribution. Some skin irritation might occur but you can start off by using it twice a week in order to let your skin get used to it.

Tatcha water cream

The next product Aly shared is Tatcha’s water cream, which is a touch on the pricier side compared to the other products she shared. She wrote, “I mean, perfection! The only issue is that it’s expensive. I felt uneasy when I bought this one.”

A favourite among beauty gurus on YouTube and makeup artists around the world, the water cream by Tatcha is known for its light-weight texture and luxe look. It is called a clarifying cream that releases burst of hydrating nutrients and pore-refining botanicals for healthy skin. It suits all skin types but more so for oily and combination skin.

Fresh rose and hyaluronic acid deep hydration moisturiser

Another produce that was a little on the pricier side was Aly’s second moisturiser — Fresh’s rose deep hydration face cream. The complete opposite of the light-textured cream Aly shared before, the Fresh cream is known for its thick whipped texture that instantly hydrates the skin.

It has damask rose extract, Hyaluronic Acid, Aqua, Glycerin and C15-19 Alkane, a hydrocarbon used as an alternative to silicone and mineral oil. The cream targets all skin types and is especially good for dry and dull looking skin and uneven texture.

Rijja Skincare’s maxac shine free sunscreen

Saboor Aly knows the importance of sunscreen and we stan! Sunscreens are a must and should be incorporated into your routine regardless of what the weather is like outside. We’re glad Aly is on the same page and encouraged her followers to use sunscreen as well.

“Have mercy on your skin and use sunblock. Good job,” she wrote while sharing a photo of another Rijja Skincare product. This one is a maxac shine free SPF 50+ sunscreen that’s in a gel form.

Palmer’s coconut oil lip balm and Kiehl’s butterstick lip treatment

By the looks of it, Aly can’t just pick one lip balm. She had two of her favourites to share with her followers.

First up, she shared Palmer’s coconut oil formula lip balm. Another beauty industry favourite for being a very moisturising lip balm, it is quite easily available. Her second pick was Kiehl’s butterstick lip treatment in the shade in pop of peony. The balm comes in different colours but Aly uses a dark berry pink for the perfect flush of colour.
