Naseem Shah is auctioning the cricket bat he used in match against Afghanistan for flood relief

Shah says half of the proceeds from the auction of the bat he borrowed from Muhammad Hasnain to hit two massive game-winning sixes will go to flood victims.

Naseem Shah, the teenage allrounder who has been impressing cricket fans across the world, is proving that his heart is as big as his sixes. Shah is auctioning the bat he used to smash two sixes and win the Asia Cup match against Afghanistan for flood relief.

On Thursday, the PCB shared a video of Shah and Muhammad Hasnain announcing that the bat will be auctioned off for a good cause. In the brief video clip, Hasnain said “By now you know about the inning played by Naseem, which he played outstandingly and led Pakistan to victory by repeating the time when Javed Miandad hit a sixer and this time it was our Naseem, our shehzada [prince], our tiger. So this bat that he played with last night was mine and now I’m gifting it to him so he can do whatever he wants with it.”

After taking the bat from Hasnain, Shah thanked him and added that he would like to auction the bat. He said that half of the proceeds will be given to the people affected by floods in Pakistan.

Singer Uzair Jaswal dropped in the comment section and said he is “proud” of the boys.

The cricket board, after the win against Afghanistan, shared a clip of the two young cricketers explaining how they exchanged bats during the game. Hasnain said that when Shah was going to the crease to bat, he asked to play with his bat. Hasnain told him that if he hits a single, he had to return the bat to him. He did not, in fact, hit a single. Instead, he smashed two sixes that won the game for the Pakistan team.

Shah was known for his bowling skills but showed everyone during the match that he is definitely an allrounder. He was appreciated by captain Babar Azam, teammate and man of the match Shadab Khan who said after Miandad and Shahid Afridi, everyone will remember Shah’s sixes, and former cricketer Younus Khan.

Nice gesture, is he got that much fame to bring out something meaningful? How about giving 50% or 2.5% of series earning to the cause???

There can be no good job for Asia Cup 2022 Pakistani Cricket Player Naseem Shah to auction the cricket bat to donate the money generated through the action in flood relief funds he used in the match played between Pakistan and Afghanistan and hit two sixes in the last over that gave lead to Pakistan's Cricket Team at Sharjah National Stadium to win the match against Afghanistan Cricket Team.

Says a lot about Naseem Shah. What will he do with remaining half? Keep it for himself?

Tax should be levied on auction proceeds as he is keeping half of the amount for himself

Fantastic performance and attitude. Remain fit and focussed and rest will take care. Work harder on batting as you showed against Sri Lanka in tests and now you hit 2 straight sixes… shows u can bat and become an all rounder

All proceeds of the auction of the bat should go to the relief fund these are young cricketers who have lots of time to make money so have a big heart and donate everything.
