All proceeds from Uzair Jaswal’s upcoming concert will go to flood relief efforts

Singer Uzair Jaswal is using his voice to raise funds for those affected by the recent floods in Pakistan. One hundred per cent of the proceeds from his upcoming concert in Islamabad will be donated to flood relief efforts.

On Monday, the ‘Tere Bin’ singer shared a poster for the event titled Flood Relief Concert and wrote, “Millions of Pakistanis have lost their loved ones, homes, land and businesses to the most devastating flood ever to hit Pakistan. It is a time when we need to stand together with our fellow countrymen as a nation to support them in any way we can. The proceeds from this concert will go entirely to the flood victims so please get your tickets and be there to support the cause.”

The open air concert will be held on September 17 at The Hill Joint LokVirsa in Islamabad. Each ticket is priced at Rs1,000 and can be bought online from Tikito.

Pakistanis are banding to help in any way they can. This includes public figures such as author Fatima Bhutto and artist Zulfikar Bhutto who are fundraising for NGOs and local hospitals through their Indus Relief 2022 initiative. The creative way they have decided to go about it is by arranging a series of events including an online auction, a writing masterclass and direct donations.

Among the many experiences being auctioned were a private screening of Jemima Khan’s new film What’s Love Got To Do With It, original artwork by Misha Japanwala and masterclasses with writers Mohsin Hamid and Kamila Shamsie.

The fashion community, along with other brands, also arranged an event with a sale of designer clothes in Karachi. It included designers such as Sania Maskatiya, Sana Safinaz, HSY and Deepak Perwani.
