Siddhant Chaturvedi ignores critics who wanted Ranveer Singh's 'permission' for Gehraiyaan scenes
Bollywood actor Siddhant Chaturvedi has responded to netizens who wanted him and Deepika Padukone to take her husband, Ranveer Singh's 'permission' or 'approval' before acting out intimate scenes in their recent film Gehraiyaan.
When asked about these critics, the actor told Bollywood Bubble that he was "never bothered" by those comments. He told the publication that the comments never made him angry and explained his take on what people had been asking him to do. “We are professionals, we know our equation. I remember when we were shooting for this film, Ranveer had come to Goa for a few days. We chilled, we partied. In fact, when I signed the film, he was the first person I called and he was really happy," said the actor who played Zain Oberoi in the film.
Chaturvedi also told the publication that Singh has just been showering him with love since their film Gully Boy and that he is his mentor for life. "Deepika is a professional. When people say these things, kya kar sakte hai (what can one do)? Hum toh apna kaam kar rahe hai (We are just doing our job),” the actor said about people demanding that Padukone seek her husband's permission before acting in intimate scenes in the film.
In Amazon Prime's Gehraiyaan Alisha (Padukone) has an affair with Zain (Chaturvedi) behind her cousin-sister Tia's (Ananya Pandey) back. Tia is Zain's fiancée. The 28-year-old actor also mentioned that he and Padukone were simply following the directions given by Shakun Batra who is the director of the film and made it easy for them to be intimate in the film, despite them being hesitant in the beginning.
The film has garnered mix reactions online. While it primarily focuses on adultery, it also sheds light on traumatic childhoods and the effect of hidden secrets of parents that ruin the lives of their children.
