Bollywood actor Sonam Bajwa thinks Parizaad is 'phenomenal'

Warning, this story contains spoilers for the finale of the Hum TV drama Parizaad.

Looks like we're not the only ones streaming Parizaad's finale — Bollywood actor Sonam Bajwa shared a picture of her screen with a scene from the last episode, all praises for the drama and Ahmed Ali Akbar who plays the titular Parizaad.

Bajwa, an Indian model and actor who predominantly appears in Punjabi language films such as Honsla Rakh and Ardab Mutiyaran, alongside a few Hindi films such as Bala, posted a photo of the last scene with Akbar's face on her Instagram Story and called it "phenomenal", tagging the actor. She added three fire emojis to the Story.

Akbar re-shared it on his Story captioned, "Oh my God! Thank you so much!"

The finale screened in cinemas a few days earlier than the TV airing on Feb 1. The much awaited last episode had everyone releasing a sigh of relief as Parizaad finally got the happy ending he deserved as opposed to the ending in the original novel story where he dies. The finale and the entire show left a lasting mark on fans as they carried more than just a story with them.

Directed by Shehzad Kashmiri, Parizaad is based on Hashim Nadeem's novel and the story revolves around a dark-skinned main character — played by the versatile Akbar — who has a pure heart and is gifted but constantly disregarded and treated poorly by people around him. The drama unfolds an interesting and unconventional story about the struggles of Parizaad as he navigates life.

The cast includes Nauman Ijaz, Syed Muhammad Ahmed, Urwa Hocane, Saboor Aly, Ushna Shah, Yumna Zaidi, Mashal Khan, Tipu Shah, Kiran Tabeer, Leyla Zuberi, Madiha Rizvi and Malik Hamid Raza.

This wasn't the first time the drama travelled across borders — Indian designer Manish Malhotra used the instrumental version of the soundtrack from Parizaad for his clothing campaign in Nov 2021.

The show is so popular that its fully furnished house went up for sale for in Islamabad for Rs600 million.
