Some of our favourite looks from the Lux Style Awards 2021 red carpet
The Lux Style Awards were held Saturday night but what we were looking most forward to was the red carpet. Unfortunately, we weren't exactly spoiled for choice when it came to amazing outfits.
Most of the outfits we saw were pretty boring if we're going to be completely honest, but there were some that stood out.
The one outfit we fell in love with instantly was model Mushk Kaleem's gorgeous hot pink Sana Safinaz number.
This dress was everything. The colour of the dress, its flounces, its sheer size, the sleek bun and minimal makeup paired with it — we loved it all. Let this be a lesson to all our celebrities walking the red carpet — when in doubt go for a dramatic dress that makes you look like a Barbie doll.
Another outfit we instantly loved was model Nimra Jacob's sleek Kamiar Rokni dress.
The outfit reminded us of what Kate Hudson wore in How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days and we loved it. The sleek fit, the colour, the trail and the cowl neck give off Grecian vibes and we're here for it.
Less iconic but still gorgeous was Aima Baig's slim fitted black dress.
We don't know who the high-necked number was by but Baig certainly made it work. With minimal silver embroidery, the dress made greater use of the wearer's own silhouette than any embellishments.
But these three dresses were all quite minimalistic and we needed drama (though Kaleem's dress was very dramatic) so of course we looked to designer Ali Xeeshan.
When it comes to award shows there is something we should all remember — where there is Ali Xeeshan, there is a cape. His white outfit with silver sequins brought the oomph we were looking for and was a vast improvement over his bathrobe inspired look at the Hum Style Awards earlier this year. Though the outfit was rather minimalist by Ali Xeeshan's standards, it certainly stood out amongst the sea of black suits and jackets worn by the men attending the LSAs.
There were two other looks that we loved that weren't from the red carpet and both were by Mehwish Hayat. The first was the maroon sequined number she wore for her dance performance. The one-shoulder, floor-length dress certainly stood out on stage.
But when it comes to the wow factor, nothing can beat this outfit.
Reminiscent of the work of high-end international designers, the slim fitted dress featured gold beadwork over nude coloured fabric, making it seem as if the embroidery was on her skin. The shoulders over the high neck, shoulders and upper arms, reminding us a bit of an epaulette (the fringe on the shoulders of some military uniforms).
We were hoping for more from the LSAs, given that they are style awards after all. What did you think of the looks at the award show?
