Saba Qamar rescued me after I was harassed on set, reveals Churails star Mehar Bano

It doesn't matter if you're working on a set or at an office, workplace harassment is a plague that seems to be infecting Pakistan and the latest celebrity to open up about the issue is Churails star Mehar Bano, who fondly remembers being rescued by Saba Qamar.

In an interview with Something Haute, Mehar Bano opened up about how the Baaghi actor came to her rescue after she was harassed by someone on set at a very young age.

"Saba Qamar came to my rescue. I was harassed by a mic wala on set. You can get harassed at any time by any one when especially when you don't know what's going on and you're just a child. As I was young at the time, I was really confused," she said.

"I told her and she went on set and had him kicked out," the Churails star added, saying it was one of the first experiences of someone having taken such a "strong stand" for her. She stressed on the importance of being aware of such issues and knowing what to do.

Mehar Bano then added how the incident made her realise just how common harassment is in our society and the reason why it's important to know about it.

"It made me realise I should be aware now of what happens to me or other girls, so I can also stand up for them," she said.

While it's horrible that Mehar Bano had to face that, the incident highlighted a perfect example of heartwarming and strong female friendships. We're glad that she had Qamar watching her back.
