Here's what Sami Khan and Eshal Fayyaz have to say about that Kaaf Kangana trailer

The Kaaf Kangana cast is adamant the movie is not what it seems from the trailer and to give the film a chance.

Speaking to Images, cast member Eshal Fayyaz said, “You can’t judge the whole film just from watching a single trailer. Watch the film and then make a decision because the trailer doesn’t give the whole film away and I would say that you can’t judge the whole film based off that. You guys should go watch the film and then comment.”

Talking more about her role in the film, Eshal said, “You’ll see me in a totally different look, most people won’t be able to recognise me in this character.”

“I’m playing an Indian girl,” she elaborated. “Her name is Kangana and she’s very strong; she always makes a decision and follows through. She stands up to her sisters, her parents and grandparents. There are a lot of fun scenes in this film and that’s all I can tell you so far.”

For his part, Sami Khan added, I’m playing the role of Ali Mustafa, a young Pakistani guy who is well-educated, has a good job and comes from a strong family.”

Expanding on what we know from the trailer and its political overtones, he said, “It’s a love story that starts in 1947 and comes to the present with a bit of Kashmir. Being Pakistani, we stand with Kashmirs and we bring up that issue in every forum. If we discuss that in film, why should there be an issue with doing that?”

He also responded to the swift public criticism for the trailer, saying, “Everyone has their feedback and opinions. All I’m going to say is that things are not always as they seem. Sometimes the trailers are well-received but the films are not, so judgement should not be passed based solely on the trailer; in any case, the script is the strong point of any film. Just go and watch it once in the cinema and any feedback after that will be taken on board.”

"You can't judge Kaaf Kangana solely by its trailer," Ayesha Omar had also said earlier. "Personally, I feel that you can't judge a movie based [solely] on the trailer."
