Amna Ilyas wants to promote gender equality with her 'Saat Din Mohabbat In' role

Amna Ilyas has high hopes from her character in upcoming romcom Saat Din Mohabbat In.

Speaking to Images about her character in the upcoming film, the actor said,"My character in the film is of a girl who is not really fond of men. She's been hurt in past relationships, so she doesn't believe in love."

"You can also call this girl a feminist, not because she hates men because feminism isn't that. But because she believes in equality between men and women."

She adds, "In the film, there is this little scenario [in which] she shows her opposition towards forced marriage."

However, the reason she said yes to her role in the film was because she hopes "to send out a message that women are equal to men in a light, engaging manner," through her character.

Amna explained that she also easily slipped into her role. "It was easy for me to get into character because there's a little bit of a feminist in me."

And so far she has enjoyed the shoot.

"My experience so far has been very good. The shoot is very organised. I've worked with Meenu and Farjad before in Zinda Bhaag, so I know how they work and I'm very comfortable with them."

Saat Din Mohabbat In will also feature popular actors Mahira Khan and Sheheryar Munawar Siddiqui in lead roles, veteran actor Javed Sheikh, Mira Sethi, Aamir Qureshi and Adnan Shah Tipu.

The film has been scripted by Fasih Bari Khan and is being directed by Meenu Gaur and Farjad Nabi of Zinda Bhaag fame. It is slated to release in 2018 by Distribution Club.
