Gigi Hadid takes a rain check on India visit

Party planning was in full swing in India, but American model Gigi Hadid has announced that she will not visit the country on April 27 as was earlier expected.

The model was making her first trip to India for a promotional campaign of Tommy Hilfiger shoes; however, it has been postponed for undisclosed reasons, reports Times of India.

"Due to unforeseen circumstances, Gigi Hadid's visit to Mumbai, on April 27th, has been postponed. Gigi looks forward to presenting the collaborative collection of the brand and meet with fans at a later date," reads a statement from her PR team.

This is an upset for her eager hosts in Bollywood who were said to be prepping for an exclusive dinner in her honour.

According to Times of India, Gigi was to discuss style with Sonam Kapoor at an event, after which she would have proceeded to a private dinner at a SoBo hotel next evening.

“It will be a sit-down dinner of 40 people, which Rhea’s father, Anil will attend as will Gigi’s mother Yolanda. Apart from them, only young celebs from all walks of life will be invited. The invite list is very selective and Gigi will be introduced to the young glitterati of India at the dinner, where Sonam is also expected to join Hadid,” DNA India had reported.
