Mehreen Jabbar’s Farar is coming to streaming platform Begin on March 21
Mehreen Jabbar’s Farar is finally releasing this Eid!
A remake of sorts of the director’s own 90s telefilm of the same name, the six-part series will be available on Pakistani streaming platform Begin from March 21.
The series stars Sarwat Gilani, Tooba Siddiqui, Mariam Saleem, Maha Hasan, Saleem Mairaj, Zahid Ahmed and Hina Khawaja Bayat. It has been written by Rida Bilal, the writer of Zakham and Jaan E Jahan, and directed by Jabbar.
The show was the first project under the Applause Entertainment-Zindagi South Asian content partnership. It was produced for online streaming platform Zee5.
According to Variety, the series follows three women, bound by friendship and driven by secrets and dreams, who yearn for an escape that could alter the course of their lives. Sabrina, a widowed hairdresser in a complex relationship; Tanya, an aspiring actor battling body image issues; and Huma, a resolute track and field runner facing marriage pressures hustle, thrive and survive as they navigate the frenzied, bustling city of Karachi.
The trailer for the show, shared via Instagram on Wednesday evening, showed a tight-knit group of friends, brewing trouble and work problems.
It was shared with the tagline “life is a mess, but at least the circle is solid,” giving us a pretty good idea of what the show has in store for us.
