Pakistani celebrities took to social media on Tuesday to express shock and sorrow after a deadly blast shook Islamabad’s G-11 area, killing 12 people and injuring 36. From heartfelt prayers to calls for peace, a wave of grief swept through the entertainment industry as they condemned the violence.

The attack came a day after a car explosion outside Delhi’s Red Fort, and at a time when Islamabad was hosting major international events, including the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference and the 6th Margalla Dialogue. A cricket match between Green Shirts and Sri Lanka was also being held in Rawalpindi.

Amidst a wave of grief and anger, celebrities used their platforms to call for peace and condemn the act of violence.

Adnan Siddiqui

The actor assured that “peace will always prevail over violence.”

Maya Ali

Sharing her heartbreak, Maya Ali questioned the motive behind such cruelty. “Khudaya reham karo (Please have some mercy for God’s sake). No one gains anything from this cruelty!” she wrote.

Talha Anjum

The rapper voiced support for Pakistan’s fight against terrorism, saying that militants “cannot be rehabilitated, they must be neutralised.”

Farhan Saeed

Expressing solidarity with the victims, the singer and actor prayed for Pakistan’s peace and a prosperous future, mourning the lives lost in the attack.

Osman Khalid Butt

Reciting a prayer for the martyrs, the actor hoped for the safety of all the people of the country.

Bilal Ashraf

Devastated, the actor said his heart “goes out to every single person affected by this tragedy.”

The outpouring of grief from the entertainment industry mirrors the nation’s sorrow as Pakistan comes to terms with the devastating loss of lives.

Terrorists' aim is to spread terror and that's all. They have only one aim, what they have been made to believe that, such attacks was their only and sure ticket to enter Jannah.
