Hira Mani is stepping into the fashion world with her own clothing brand

She joins Mahira Khan, Syra Yousuf and others in Pakistan’s growing celeb-brand universe.

Hira Mani is officially adding “designer” to her résumé. The actor has announced the launch of Hira Mani Couture, a fashion label that, according to its social media, wants to be more than just clothes.

It’s positioning itself as a celebration of womanhood, individuality and the joy of dressing up. The brand says it aims to combine traditional craftsmanship with modern cuts, creating pieces that are luxurious yet wearable.

The first collection, Afsaanay, is “coming soon”, but Mani has already declared herself “sooo excited” about what’s in store, sharing the brand’s logo and tagline — handmade luxury tailored for you — on her Instagram stories.

If this sounds familiar, that’s because Mani isn’t the first celebrity to take the entrepreneurial plunge into fashion.

Mahira Khan launched M by Mahira last year, which she envisioned as a love letter to her grandmother’s timeless whites. The brand has since expanded into fragrances, too.

Syra Yousuf has Studio by Syra, which leans towards luxe fabrics and tailored two-pieces, offering a mix of comfort and elegance. Aijaz Aslam went in a different direction entirely back in 2020, focusing on skincare rather than clothes.

Sadaf Kanwal has her own label, Sadaf Kanwal Fashion, which highlights her love for contemporary yet graceful looks. The brand plays with bold silhouettes and modern styles while still keeping an eye on what works for desi wardrobes.

Fahad Mustafa started his label Nine Figures, celebrating individuality and confidence, last year. Ayesha Omar launched her skincare line, Ayesha O Beauty, back in 2021.

It seems like building a personal brand beyond the screen is now a rite of passage for Pakistani celebrities, whether it’s clothes, fragrances, or serums and Mani is the latest to bet on her personal brand translating into a fashion one.

Clever move even though she can still do lead roles in dramas for another 10 years, easily, before being hit by the notorious ageist mafia. Many celebrities are branching out into garments, cosmetics, podcasting, talk shows or influencing. Similar to international trends with Selena Gomez with her cosmetic brand, RARE or Gwyneth Paltrow retiring from acting as her GOOP lifestyle and skin/body care business has completely taken off. It's good to think of one's future and plan ahead. It presumably also greats more jobs. Oh and brings in more money. Hira Maani followed suit after seeing Mahira Khan, Aimen and Minal Khan etc. More money is always good.

And I've launched my own E-commerce brand to take on Jeff Bezos But I don't make the headlines, nor seek publicity!

Let me guess! Got inspiration from Err.... Mani (Armani)? Next, we will perhaps hear from a Ms. Shabana, who will launch a Dholki & Shabana brand?

Putting their name and pictures on any product, makes the product a celebrity itself worth gold for divinely attached fans. But they hardly imagine the exploitation of their phsycho leniency for the enrichment of those sp called celebrities. Even religious attachments are also shamelessly being exploited by some religious big-wigs!

@M. Malik Well, thats so ur fault then, isn't it? Marketing and PR are important strategies to promote and establish a brand. PR a whole industry on its own. Even politicians and celebrities have their spindoctors and publicists. Hira Mani is just being clever. Afterallz she ses how other celebrities (Aimen and Minal Khan, Mahira Khan etc) are branching out so she was like "why not me?". Mr Hira Mani was like "sure babe, we could use the extra millions". Long story short, voila, she now has her own clothing brand. No doubt at very affordable prices for the average person. Hira is still young and can easily play female leads in dramas for another 10 years. But it's good to branch out and diversify. We see it internationally too with Gwyneth Paltrow completely retiring from acting due to her health, lifestyle and skincare brand, GOOP, or Selena Gomez's cosmetic brand, RARE. Georgie Clooney sold off his Tequila brand valued at 1billion US$. Are you hiring by any chance? Asking for a friend.

@Mahmood Nah, I think she is just using her surname lol i don't think she has the ahem brains to even have thought of Armani. This is a celeb thing. Internationally too (Gwyneth Paltrow (GOOP), Selena Gomez (Rare) George Clooney (Tequila), The Kardashians (Skims, Kylie Beauty), Rihanna (Fenty Beauty) etc. It's a great retirement plan and way to keep more money coming in. That's the benefit of already being famous and monetising that. Like nepo baby Gwyneth has completely retired from films due to Goop. In a way this is not just a clever business move but it's also better than singing, dancing and acting. More 'decent', if you like. Although our females tend to age very gracefully and Hira can act as lead for many many more years, in a way it's also empowering for females audience to see females doing businesses and brands and possibly be inspired by that. Just look at Huda Beauty. It started on youtube and is not a billion dollar world renowned makeup brand. Entrepreneurship for females should be emphasized more. I read how a bride spent 1,5 crows on such her bridal outfits. The actresses know where the money is: Fashion. Maybe we should also start our own brand? I can be fairly creative. You can deal with the numbers. I'll design. We can outsource the production. How about it? The economy needs us!

@LAILA, If you're indeed entrepreneurial-minded, a risk-taker, goal-oriented, and also have a proclivity to be creative, then I accept your challenge and invite you to find a creative way to convey your contact details. I will do the rest. Including risking a trip to, wait for it... yikes...Karachi - if that's your abode!?? I am very serious. But to give you clue, I'm not interested in earning a few million rupees in Pakistan or fame in a small market. But a brand with a global reach and an eventual IPO in the US, in a few years. If you catch my drift?? :) I look forward to hearing back from you.
