If you think skincare is only for women and by women, Aijaz Aslam is here to change the narrative.

Foraying into the realm of self-care, Aslam’s much-anticipated skincare brand is the culmination of his personal experiences, journey and a vision to provide natural and organic solutions for all.

"People always ask me what I eat, my lifestyle, how to delay the ageing process or stay fit," Aijaz said, speaking to Images about how the idea to begin his new venture came about and how his line is different from the rest.

"Previously, everyone used to rely on natural, organic items for their skin issues. My range too, has herbs, essential oil extracts and silver flakes which are very good for the skin, keeping it healthy naturally and helping regenerate skin cells," he revealed, adding that most of the products are anti-ageing.

One of the many products in his skincare line is the face mist, that Aslam is particularly excited about.

"It's pore-tightening with a little factor included for sunblock," the Cheekh actor said, saying that it will aid in making the skin better with its handy spray form perfect for providing instant freshness or plumpness.

While the hair mist doesn't have a strong hold, it is another product that will help rejuvenate the scalp, enhancing growth slowly and gradually.

"Since herbal products don't have any side effects, you can use as much as you want."

Likewise, the facial serums in Aijaz's line are richly formulated with essential oils.

However, his new venture isn't restricted to products for women only. The veteran actor spoke about his beard oils rather enthusiastically, expressing concern regarding male consumers and how they use products full of chemicals without understanding the damage they cause in the long run, often resulting in their hair going white.

"What we’ve made is from herbs so it’s effective for hair growth, can be used after shower and it’s not oil-based so pretty convenient," Aijaz said. "It has a natural unique fragrance and also provides a soothing effect, nourishing the skin beneath the beard."

The actor also revealed how the products are all in collaboration with Hemani and it took him around a year.

While The 'Silver Range' will comprise of real silver flakes and gold extracts, the 'Advance Self Care and Grooming Products' will include organic extracts, he concluded, revealing that he wishes to encourage people to consume local products.

"In the future, I'll be working on health and food supplements and a clothing line too," he said, adding that an alcohol-free hand sanitiser and moisturiser is also on his list.

I am pleased we are getting more local and affordable skin care lines with focus on organic process, natural ingredients. I hope it really is pure and not containing hazardous chemicals which is fairly common as there is no monitoring or safety standards being enforced.

Herbal products can definitely have side effects and people who are allergic to specific products can experience irritation, inflammation and rashes which can occur from something as common as a cucumber or tomatoes to persons who are allergic to them. Going herbal or organic does not mean it will have no side effects. However, as the realm of herbal is not covered by any governing body, the studies on the adverse affects are either too little or non-existent. There is also little to no testing or approval process for these and these do not require prescription. Just saying that herbal has no side effects is misinformation if not an outright lie and people should do a patch test before using any product on their skin to see if it suits them or not. They should also be on the lookout for changes through long term use.

Good that we have our own brand, but please tone down the narrative that herbal product have no side effect. Even too much water have side effect.....

@Laila it’s fooling people. I am a scientist In states an four lab work in skin sensitivity. All products need to be stabilized with chemicals and it’s impossible to develop with chemicals. Organic is the term only used for food. Normally companies lie as they mention avena fatua extract which is actually not the extract it is only one compound from that plant. Don’t get me fooled. Best skincare is butter, milk cream extracted at home and coconut plus water emulsion as moisturizer.

@JUR-USA but there are even international brands which are organic with natural ingredients. Maybe not 100% natural but in the 90s percentile. I have used such a shampoo and compared with normal shampoo. I had to use more of it to get it to foam. I am not that well versed in the intrinsics of skin care development but I know in the US more chemicals even hazardous ones, steroids are allowed in skin care but in contrast there is more control and restriction in Europe as they don't allow the same. So I think differences are both regional and also dependent on resources. Pakistan is new in this field. It is possible to create natural creams and skin care products. But we can't even get pure natural ingredients like coconut/olive oil or milk here unless you grow it. All is diluted or mixed with other oils or chemicals. Maybe you heard of the cooking oil scandals ? But if you want anti-ageing skin care, it is difficult without chemicals, a scientific fact as in documented effect.
