The Lahore High Court granted on Tuesday YouTuber Saadur Rehman, popularly known as Ducky Bhai, protective bail in a case filed against him for allegedly driving recklessly on the motorway.

Justice Shahbaz Rizvi approved his plea and restrained the police from arresting him until his trial on May 5, for which he is instructed to appear in court.

The case, filed against Rehman after he uploaded a video in which he appeared to be driving a vehicle with his feet on the dashboard, was registered at Chakri police station in Rawalpindi on April 19.

The FIR accuses him of showing “extreme carelessness and recklessness” while operating a vehicle on the motorway. It states that his actions endangered not only his life but also the lives of others on the road.

The FIR invokes Section 279 of the Pakistan Penal Code (rash driving) and Article 67 of the National Highway Safety Ordinance, 2000 (driving dangerously).

Speaking to reporters outside the court, Rehman acknowledged the video but denied some of the more serious claims. “I’m not here to give justifications, but the accusation that I was driving with my feet is misleading — my feet were on the dashboard, not the steering wheel,” he said.

About the claims that he was asleep while driving, he alleged, “It might look like that in the video because my left eye is closed, but my right eye is open — I have proof. The entire video shows me giving instructions as well.”

Calling the clip “pointless” and “a mistake,” Rehman insisted that the car has auto-steering and autonomous braking features. “It picks its own speed, stays in lane, and brakes automatically if a car is ahead, even from a distance,” he said. “Also, in the video, you’ll notice I made sure no one was in front of me.”

While acknowledging the irresponsibility of the video, he reiterated, “I’m not justifying anything, I’m only giving my side of the story.”

A tv star recently drove his rashly and when caught by the police, he tried to justify that he was a trained race driver and knew the dangers of fast driving. He was still booked and had to face the law.

"Drive Smart, Stay Alive " Reckless driving poses significant hazards not only to the driver but also to passengers, pedestrians, and other road users. It can lead to severe accidents, injuries, and fatalities due to high speeds, aggressive maneuvers, and a general disregard for traffic laws. The consequences can be devastating, affecting families and communities. To mitigate these risks, drivers should adopt several precautions: 1. Stay Focused: Avoid distractions such as mobile phones or in-car entertainment. Concentrate fully on the road. 2. Follow Speed Limits: Adhere to posted speed limits and adjust speed according to road conditions, weather, and traffic. 3. Maintain a Safe Following Distance: Keep a safe distance from the vehicle in front to allow for adequate reaction time. 4. Use Turn Signals: Always signal your intentions to other drivers to promote safe lane changes and turns. 5. Avoid Aggressive Driving: Stay calm in traffic, and refrain from tailgating, weaving in and out of lanes, or road rage. 6. Never Drive Under the Influence: Always ensure you are sober and alert when behind the wheel. Utilize alternative transportation if necessary. 7. Regular Vehicle Maintenance: Keep your vehicle in good condition to prevent mechanical failures that could lead to accidents. By practicing these precautions and promoting responsible driving behaviors, we can significantly reduce the risks associated with reckless driving and create safer roads for everyone.

In a real, generic and pure democracy, getting a bail from a court, known as bond in the U.S., is the fundamental right of every person.
