A Lahore court has issued non-bailable warrants of arrest for actor Nazish Jahangir in a Rs2.5 million fraud case. She is to be arrested and presented before the court on Saturday, March 22.

The Cantt Kutchery Court’s judicial magistrate, Ghulam Shabbir Sial, issued the arrest warrant in a case filed by actor Aswad Haroon. In his petition, the actor said he lent Jahangir Rs2.5 million and a car for two months, but she failed to return either within the stipulated period of time.

He said a case had been filed against her by the police, but he didn’t receive justice, and requested the court to issue an order to return the money and car.

The initial case was filed in 2024 under Section 420 of the Pakistan Penal Code — cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property — at the Defence C police station. It alleged that Jahangir, who knew Haroon through the entertainment industry, asked to borrow his car and Rs2.5 million for two months for a project, but failed to return it despite six months passing.

Haroon claimed that Jahangir asked to meet him at a farmhouse to return the car’s papers but failed to show up and instead sent a man named Sikandar Khan who threatened him with weapons. The FIR stated that Khan threatened to kill Haroon if he ever reached out to Jahangir again.

In response, Jahangir filed a petition in September 2024 requesting pre-arrest bail. The petition stated that the FIR was registered with “malafide intention and for ulterior motives just to humiliate and harass the petitioner”. It was dismissed.

In October, the Lahore High Court directed the FIA to decide on a petition she had filed to stop propaganda against her on social media.

Cases like these should be brought to court within a month, proper trail conducted in another month, accused should either be set free or sentenced according to law. No need to delay it. Set examples for everyone. Wake up Pakistan. We are in AI age.
