Whether it becomes an enduring anthem or not, the track is bound to get fans pumped for the tournament.

The official anthem for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is out and it’s bound to get fans pumped for the tournament. Titled ‘Jeeto Baazi Khel Ke’, the song features powerhouse vocalist Atif Aslam, marking a historic moment for Pakistani music and cricket fans worldwide.

The song’s arrival sets the stage for the much-anticipated return of the Champions Trophy after eight years. Aslam, known for his signature raspy and soulful vocals, infuses high energy into the track.

Produced by the acclaimed Abdullah Siddiqui, Jeeto Baazi Khel Ke is written and composed by Adnan Dhool and Asfandyar Asad. The song’s production is a testament to Siddiqui’s expertise, delivering an electrifying yet polished track that perfectly balances excitement with musical grandeur.

Aslam’s dynamic delivery makes the song more engaging while capturing the essence of competition and celebration.

The anthem also strikes a chord as a pop song without the aggressive style often associated with sports anthems. The incorporation of a band baja arrangement gives it an uplifting and celebratory feel, reminiscent of previous Pakistan Super League (PSL) anthems like ‘Agay Dekh’, which also featured Aslam and Siddiqui. Needless to say, the composition builds an infectious energy.

So far, only a teaser for the music video has been released. Aslam is seen dancing through the streets — typical of cricket anthems from Pakistan and India, given the game is very much a street sport for us.

The teaser is filled with enthusiastic cricket fans and flags of participating nations waving proudly in the background.

Dancers add to the festivity, while Aslam’s lyrics reinforce the communal excitement: “Khelne aye hum khelne aye, gali gali bhari pari tujhe mujhe dekhne [We are here to play; the streets are filled with people here to watch us].”

While the song doesn’t necessarily break new ground, it is an expertly crafted anthem that plays to its strengths. Siddiqui’s production ensures that it remains engaging without feeling overdone, making it a solid addition to the cricketing world’s musical legacy.

Unlike previous editions of the Champions Trophy, which did not prominently feature official anthems, this release is a significant milestone.

The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will see the top eight One Day International teams competing, with matches set to take place in Lahore, Karachi, Rawalpindi, and the UAE.

The first match is scheduled for February 19, anticipated to be an exciting clash between Pakistan and New Zealand.

A more apt title would be Jeeto Baazi Duaa Se for Pakistani team. Just saying.
