Ushna Shah is not here for pointless online bullying. Days after a woman was mercilessly trolled for being overcome with emotion and crying at a Diljit Dosanjh concert in Jaipur, Shah called out the haters.

“Some people spend their money to go to a live concert just to record it on their phones. Others live in the moment, soak in the music and express their emotions,” the actor wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

She added that for some people, music was therapy and the concert of their favourite artist becomes a core memory, not an Instagram story.

In a second tweet, the Habs actor clarified that she had made concert videos too, however, she was referring to the young woman who went viral for crying at the Dosanjh concert.

“That moment was profoundly meaningful to her and it’s unfortunate that a lot of creators online responded to it with trolling. I truly hope that experience isn’t ruined for her, she did nothing wrong.”

Shah’s support comes after Dosanjh himself took a stand for the fan during a concert in Hyderabad.

The singer posted a video of himself captioned, “A woman who knows her worth doesn’t need validation — she shines bright enough to light her own way.”

In the video, he said in Punjabi, “Music is an emotion. It makes people smile, dance, fight, fall, and even cry. I, myself, have cried several times listening to music. Only those who have emotions can cry. I got you, don’t worry about that.”

According to the Indian Express, the singer added, “These girls — no one can stop them. They are independent; not only men but women too earn. They earn and can enjoy themselves. You are insulting her, you are insulting the daughter of the country.”
