Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari, the eldest daughter of President Asif Ali Zardari and the late prime minister Benazir Bhutto, has announced the birth of her third child on Instagram. The baby, a boy, was born on October 20.

Her first son with her husband Mahmood Choudhry, Mir Hakim, was born on October 10, 2021. Their second son, Mir Sijawal, was born on October 5, 2022. Bakhtawar also announced their births through surprise Instagram posts.

While she hasn’t revealed her third son’s name yet, her first two children were named after elders from her and her husband’s family. Bakhtawar and Mahmood paid tribute to her late grandfather Hakim Ali Zardari and late uncle Mir Murtaza Bhutto with her eldest son’s name.

“Named by and after his nana baba, sij is Sindhi for sun. Sijawal means the rising sun,” she wrote about her second born.

As soon as the couple shared the news about the latest addition to their family, congratulations came pouring in. Among the well-wishers were Bakhtawar’s sister Aseefa Zardari and former member of the Sindh provincial assembly Sharmila Faruqui.

Shaikha bint Mohammed bin Rashed Al Maktoum, the daughter of UAE’s Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, also congratulated her along with Dubai-based influencers Huda Tayyab and Latifa Alshamshi.

Bakhtawar and Dubai-based businessman Choudhry were engaged on November 27, 2020, and married in early 2021.

Good for them. They will be a big family. I couldn't help noticing there is only a year between her first and second child. Islamically we should breastfeed for 2 years. The nutrients provided through a mother's milk and also the connection established while feeding between mother and child are special. But she fell pregnant just 3 months after giving birth to the first baby which means no more breastfeeding. What's the hurry? They are young, healthy and priveleged. I don't know why people don't understand the importance of breastfeeding.

She is setting the wrong example for Sindh by having children so close to each other. We need to have population control.

The new born boy also shared the same date of birth October 20th 2024 as Presidential Candidate Kamala Harris of USA, she turns 60th now. There is a passibility this child may follow his Nani Benazir Bhutto political career and become PM or President of Pakistan down the road. Remember… Ghandi family of India, Kennedy family of USA and Bhutto family of Pakistan all part of political families.
