Shooting has been completed for upcoming crime-thriller film Taxali. Written and directed by Abu Aleeha, the film is slated to be released around Eidul Azha this year. Taxali will be screened at different film festivals around the world and that will lead to its worldwide release, according to the director.
Actor Mehar Bano told Images that she plays the character of a young girl from Lahore. “Abu Aleeha approached me for this project,” the Churails actor said. “It is an ensemble cast and the working experience was fantastic.” There is no fixed date yet for its release, however, Mehar Bano said it’s sooner than we think.
The cast also features Ayesha Omar, Yasir Hussain, Nayyer Ejaz, Iffat Omar, Iftikhar Thakur, Babar Ali, Umar Aalam and Sheheryar Cheema.
Waqas Hasan Rizvi, who produced the film, shared a picture with cast members of Instagram.
“This film is indeed a suspense crime thriller but it also shows the old Lahore’s folk wisdom and humour,” the film’s director told Images.
“As far as the performances are concerned, I can affirm for the first time that every actor’s performance will leave its own standard in the industry. Whether it is Mehar Bano’s performance — this is the best of her career — Yasir Hussain has given the best performance of his career, Ayesha Omar has given the best performance of her career, Nayyer Ejaz has given the best performance of his career.
“Everyone gave the best performance of their career and its reason is that their characters were very powerful,” said Abu Aleeha.
