Eidul Fitr is one of the most happening times for the Pakistani movie industry and its avid viewers as most films are released on the two days of Eid. Just like every year, we have a few exciting local movies hitting the big screen.

From romance to action to hysterical heists and some local Punjabi tadka, there’s a lot to look forward to on-screen this Eid.

Huey Tum Ajnabi

The story of the 1971 war is the current trend that film writers have begun exploring. After Nabeel Qureshi’s modern take in Khel Khel Mein, another filmmaker Kamran Shahid is now releasing a movie Huey Tum Ajnabi on the same series of events.

Starring Mikaal Zulfiqar and Sadia Khan as the leads, the film is about an intense love story during the war. It also stars Sohail Ahmed, Mehmood Aslam, Shafqat Cheema, Samina Pirzada, Ayesha Umer, Shamoon Abbasi and Alyy Khan, among others.

Dorr

Nadeem Cheema’s Dorr is an action-packed romantic drama with the hero saving his ladylove from vicious men. Along with romantic songs, the movie is full of violence, guns and fighting scenes.

The movie stars Asad Mahmood, Shafqat Cheema, Saleem Meraj, Aslam Hassan, Waseem Ali, Rashid Mahmood, Sardar Kamal, Azhar Rangeela, Ch Shahbaz, Arooj Chaudhry, Hafsa Rajput, Sidra Noor, Kamran Mujahid, Imran Ahmed, Ameer Ali, Ali Khan, Faiz Chuhan and Achi Khan.

Daadal

Abu Aleeha is known for consistently providing entertaining stories to viewers. He has announced several movies over the years, starring big names from the industry with exciting and distinctive storylines.

Another movie added to the list is Daadal, which is a story about a fierce woman played by Sonya Hussayn, who is seen killing a gang of rich men involved in horrible things. She is chased by an inspector, played by Mohsin Abbas Haider, who later teams up with her against evildoers.

The movie also stars Shamoon Abbasi, Maira Khan, Rizwan Jaffri, and Adnan Shah Tipu in pivotal roles.

Lahore Qalandar

There will be a few single-screen Punjabi movies releasing this Eid, however, the only big-budget one is Lahore Qalandar, which brings the old standard Punjabi-style story with a lot of raunchy action. Directed by Shahid Rana, it stars Saima Noor, along with Banto Butt, Shafqat Cheema and Shehryar Cheema.

Money Back Guarantee

The much-awaited Money Back Guarantee has garnered loads of excitement due to its star-studded cast, including Fawad Khan, Mikaal Zulfiqar, Ayesha Omar and Gohar Rasheed. It also serves as the big screen debut of cricketing legend Wasim Akram and his wife Shaneira Akram.

Directed by the multitalented Faisal Qureshi, who has written and starred in many iconic commercials, entertainment programmes, and music videos, the movie has an action-comedy storyline revolving around a money heist. The movie was supposed to be released last year, however, it was pushed forward and is now set to release on Eidul Fitr.

Other than these Pakistani movies, there will be two Hollywood movies releasing as well — John Wick: Chapter 4 and Evil Dead Rise — leaving audiences with many options to choose from this Eidul Fitr.
