Art House by Sarwat Gilani contributes funds to help Turkiye earthquake victims
As Turkiye suffers through the devastating impact of the recent earthquakes, the world must reach out and help in whatever way it can. Actor Sarwat Gilani is doing her part and contributing funds from her Art House to provide aid to earthquake victims and their families.
On Thursday, she shared a photo of herself seated at a desk between the Pakistani and Turkish flags, and wrote, “Deepest condolences for our brothers and sisters of Türkiye. The images and news do not come close to the devastation occurred by continuous earthquakes affecting 11 cities destroying million of lives and homes,” she said. “Art House by Sarwat Gilani contributed their First Inclusive Art Exhibition’s fundraising to the victims and innocent families of Türkiye in hopes that little by little, in whatever capacity, we can all come together and help them in these testing times.”
Art House by Sarwat Gilani is an initiative started by the Churails actor after she realised how much of a gap there is between parents and children. “Mothers would ask me how I kept my kids ‘involved and engaged’. The feedback showed that as a nation we were starved for some healthy activities for our children, clueless how to encourage them to take interest in arts and crafts. Art House was created as a space where holistic learning could take place. As an artist, my emphasis was on learning through play for the young ones. As a parent, my aim was to help fathers and mothers with conscious parenting,” she told The News last year.
