Stay calm and kill them with kindness. Educate them, let them be. And sometimes press block.

Social media can often turn into a cesspool of hate and you don’t even need anything controversial to fuel it. We just have to accept that there are people out there who have taken it upon themselves to spread as much stinky energy as possible so everyone else feels as miserable as them. The good news is you don’t have to invite any of it in. Actor Nadia Jamil has set a great example of how to fan away the fumes of hate.

Jamil has been attacked online on the basis of all kinds of things. You may stop and think no way, that’s too far, but guess what? They went there. They didn’t only abuse her personal beliefs but also talked about cancer making her stupid, brought up her children in hypothetical situations, attacked her profession, religion, education — you name it. And she handled it like the queen she is. Check out how she diffused the bombs with kindness.

Educate them, sis

When they try to attack you, you go high and talk about very pressing issues, like climate change. Climate change is real, folks!

Gentle but firm shutdown

This one warrants anger, and lots of it, but Jamil chose to stay calm and list how cancer really affected her. She then asked the Twitter user to not be so casual about her survival journey.

You do you

They have an opinion you don’t agree with? Cool. They can believe what they want while you do the same and the acceptance of that is what enables you to live together peacefully.

Don’t disown them, own them

They think they can attack your family as a means to get to you? Welcome them into the folds of your family. Now what?

We care

They’re sickened to hear or see you? Ask them to text you their address so you can send soup or, in this case, syrup.

Boy, bye

Jamil definitely knows when to draw a line. They go too far? Block. No more of this nonsense on our TL.

How did humanity exist before someone created ''social media"?? Get off FB, Twitter, Insta, Tik Tok and enjoy peace and harmony !!! You can live with this nuisance. And you won;t get more popular if you stay on them.

It is not necessary to remain relevant to social media. Sometime, ignorance is bliss.
