It’s official — our celebrities love The Legend of Maula Jatt. After Adnan Siddiqui, Amar Khan and other stars, Yasir Hussain is the latest to commend Bilal Lashari and Ammara Hikmat’s The Legend of Maula Jatt. The Badshah Begum actor called it “the best thing that happened to Pakistan” since the 92 World Cup.

Taking to Instagram on Thursday, Hussain wrote, “From Nasir Adeeb sahab’s writing to Bilal Lashari’s direction and Ammara Hikmat’s production, everything is great. The entire time you won’t feel like getting out of your seat or even checking the mobile phone. Babar Ali and Resham’s screen presence was unreal, Ali Azmat and Faris Shafi, best [supporting] cast.”

Then came his praises for the main cast as he began complimenting the Natts — Mirza Gohar Rasheed, Hamza Ali Abbasi, Humaima Malick, Nayyer Ijaz and Shafqat Cheema for their performances.

“Fear was accompanied by hatred and special shoutout for Mahira Khan because only she can be the heroin[e] to Maula. Lastly comes Fawad Khan whom I loved as Maula. As a theatre actor I can easily say that Maula was the most difficult character of the movie. Firstly the character has so many shades and secondly after Sultan Rahi sahab it was almost impossible to accept anyone else as a Maula. But from today on Fawad Khan is our Maula Jatt, and that’s the winning point for the film,” he wrote.

Hussain also pointed out that if a mistake was to be pointed out about The Legend of Maula Jatt it would be all cinemas didn’t screen it. “This film does not need anyone’s support instead the cinema-goers need to see the film,” he concluded.

The film released worldwide on over 500 screens across 25 countries. On Tuesday Maula Jatt was number one at the UAE Box Office, six in Canada and eight in Australia. In its opening weekend, the big budget film collected Rs509 million (US$2.3 million).

I can't say best thing after 92. That's depressing but I can surely say that it's the best cinema experience of my lifetime from Pakistani movie. There were heaps of Indians watching it in cinema here in UK. And even they appreciated it and enjoyed it along with Pakistanis and even few Local people too

Please don't equate with 92 world cup. After experiencing the governance by that person We do not want any actor or director from the movie to be PM!

Talk about doing something practical for our young generation. Stop bragging if this movie made some money. Will this move be instrumental educating or enhancing our culture?

It's because Urdu Speakers and Pakhtuns were given the lead roles in this movie. Most people working in TV are from Karachi, so they feel particularly obligated to promote this film.

@Ahsan Gul Well said The younger generation of today, who knows what will become of them, considering the gore, violence, human skin exposure, sensual content shown in films as well as showing women in face cream advertisements aired on TV and lack of humility present in film stars of today All actors these days only care about making money, not about the message they portray to the audience Everything possible immoral activity has become entertainment for the actors, story writers, directors of today, except for a select few that show positive content Film story writers, directors, producers, all must pay attention to the righteousness that should be presented in films, TV serials, to the generation of today, in fact to all generations that are alive Thank you

I thought the casting was spot on, 3 Natt villians can only be put in place by Maulla and only Mahira could be mukko, she did not needs to overplay her cards like Daro because she was already in his heart ! The good has to be restraints and control to beat the over the top bad guys who had no limits !

Too much hype...use of technology is great in terms of images and audio...but in terms of originality and culture presented in the original film...the remake does not even come close!
