Haven’t seen something this spectacular coming from our industry in eons, says Adnan Siddiqui about Maula Jatt
One of the most anticipated movies in Pakistan, Bilal Lashari and Ammara Hikmat’s The Legend of Maula Jatt, hit cinemas on Thursday. A day after its premiere in Lahore, actor Adnan Siddiqui shared an appreciation post for the stars, the film creators and the movie itself.
On its official release day, Siddiqui took to Instagram and shared the film poster with his review. “This post is an unabashed appreciation of The Legend Of Maula Jatt. What. A. Movie!! Haven’t seen something this spectacular coming from our industry in eons,” he wrote.
He also lauded Lashari’s efforts and called it a “labour of love” that was pulled off by the star cast. He called the movie a “simple tale of revenge between two warring families” that “exudes sharp screenplay, absorbing script, cinematic extraordinaire, slick editing and crackerjack performances by every actor, irrespective of the screen time they got”.
Siddiqui also credited Hikmat, the film producer, and Asad Jamil Khan, the executive producer, for “reviving the signature genre” of Pakistani cinema that according to Siddiqui, is “pure, unadulterated action marries superhit formula”.
“May The Legend of Maula Jatt break all records!” he concluded.
On Wednesday, the premiere day, Siddiqui had shared a photo of himself with Fawad Khan and Lashari. He assured the public that the hype is worth “every naya paisa [new money]” and that Maula Jatt is that one movie everyone had been waiting for. “Good things come to those who wait and here we are!” he wrote.
The film sees Khan as Maula Jatt, Hamza Ali Abbasi as Noori Natt, Humaima Mallick as Daaro Nattni, Mahira Khan as Mukkho Jatti , Gohar Rasheed as Maakha Natt, Ali Azmat as Gogi and Faris Shafi as Mooda.
The Legend of Maula Jatt is now available to watch in theatres across Pakistan.
