Zee5 series Qatil Haseenaon Ke Naam starring “seven fierce women” Sarwat Gilani, Eman Suleman, Samiya Mumtaz, Sanam Saeed, Faiza Gillani, Mehar Bano and Beo Raana Zafa won an Asian Academy Creative Award in the Best Single Drama/Telemovie/Anthology Episode category. Congratulations to the Haseenas!

The Joyland actor shared the news on her Instagram on Sunday captioned, “Thank you Asian Academy Creative Awards for this huge honour, a big high five and lots of love to my wonderful team of Qatil Haseenas Shailja Kejriwal, Meenu Gaur, Samiya Mumtaz, Mehar Bano, Samiya Ansari, Sarmed Aftab Jadraan, Ahsan Khan [and] Osman Khalid Butt.”

The Zindagi Gulzar Hai actor shared the same post and talked about what winning the award meant to her. “It’s so exciting for us as South Asian female actors to perform in dynamic, risk taking, stereo[type] breaking, exciting new content.” She congratulated the team, tagging the creators, director, writer and [the] Haseenas.

Mumtaz posted a screenshot of the list of award-winners and wrote, “Qatil Haseenaon Ke Naam wins big. Beautifully written, Farjad Nabi. Many congratulations to the entire hardworking team.”

Mehar Bano shared the list and tagged the creator, saying she always comes through with good news.

Gilani and Suleman dropped down to congratulate the team in Kejriwal’s comment section.

Described by Deadline as a “desi noir anthology series”, the show focuses on the fearlessness of women and their determination to avenge deceit, whilst being set in androon sheher [downtown] — a mythical neighbourhood. Themes of love, ambition, revenge and revolution are explored. Qatil Haseenaon Ke Naam is a compilation of stories of seven women who wrestle back control and redefine the word femme fatale.

It released on December 10 and also starred Butt, Khan, Sheheryar Munawar and Saleem Mairaj.
