Maroon 5’s Adam Levine admits he shared flirtatious messages with model, calls it ‘greatest mistake’ he could ever make
Maroon 5 front-man Adam Levine says he did not have an affair with an Instagram model but admits that he “crossed the line” by engaging in “flirtatious” exchanges with someone who was not his wife, Behati Prinsloo.
Levine was accused of cheating on his pregnant wife Prinsloo when a woman named Sumner Stroh came forward about their ‘secret relationship’ and claimed the singer slid into her Instagram DMs. Now the singer has taken to Instagram and admitted that he “crossed the line” during a regrettable period of his life but said he has never had an affair.
On Tuesday, the ‘Girls Like You’ singer took to Instagram stories and shared that a lot is being said about him in the media right now and he “wants to clear the air”. In the post he wrote that he exercised poor judgement in speaking with anyone other than his Victoria’s Secret model wife and said that he did not have an affair. “Nevertheless, I crossed the line during a regrettable period in my life. In certain instances it became inappropriate, I have addressed that and taken proactive steps to remedy this with my family.”
He added that he only cares about his wife and family in this world and “to be this naive and stupid enough to risk the only thing that truly matters” to him was the “greatest mistake” he could ever make. He said he will never make it again. The ‘Payphone’ singer took full responsibility and said he and his family will get through it together.
Stroh made her allegations on Monday in a TikTok video that went viral on social media, with people calling Levine out for cheating on Prinsloo with another woman. In the TikTok video, the model said that she had been “having an affair with a man who’s married to a Victoria’s Secret model” and revealed that their relationship was consensual as she was “naive” and at that time chose to respond back to Levine’s messages online.
She said that she felt “exploited” and that she and Levine were in a relationship for about a year. She said he had reentered her life via Instagram DMs recently.
“Ok serious question,” Levine’s alleged message to her read. “I’m having another baby and if it’s [a] boy I really want to name it Sumner. You ok with that? DEAD serious.”
Revealing more about her relationship, Stroh told *Page Six* that it was “physical” and that she hadn’t spoken to Levine in months.
Levine and Prinsloo have two young daughters, five-year-old Dusty Rose and four-year-old Gio Grace together with another addition on the way as they are expecting their third baby. They got engaged in the summer of 2013 and married a year later in Mexico.
Five days ago on Friday the supermodel shared photos of her baby bump on Instagram, announcing that they are expecting their third child.
But the drama may not be over just yet. Hours after Levine posted a statement online, TMZ reported that two other women have come forward with evidence of flirtatious messages exchanged with the musician.
In a second TikTok, Stroh claimed that she was “used” by Levine and did not know enough about celebrity culture in Los Angeles, which is why she felt exploited.
The Instagram model claims that she came forward with the details only because she had shared the screenshots of their chat with friends and one of them tried to sell the story to a tabloid. She came to know of this when the tabloid reached out to her for a comment. So in an attempt to reveal the truth, she came forward herself in order to kill whatever story the tabloid had planned, she claimed.
