There’s a new show coming your way that’s a mix of Hogwarts and Sabrina the Teenage Witch in Netflix’s upcoming release The School for Good and Evil. The film will see both sides of fairytales and how the individuals with these traits are trained at the School for Evil Edification and Propagation of Sin. The film is based on book series by author Soman Chainani who is also wrote the script for the film.

The trailer dropped on Tuesday with Charlize Theron’s Lady Lesso narrating what the school is actually about. “Every so often, a very lucky candidate from the outside is selected for admission to this hallowed institution,” she says.

In the trailer, the school is described as an institution where “the true story behind every great fairy tale begins. The school for good trains the heroes, the school for evil, villains.” Questioning the story is Agatha, played by Sofia Wylie, who laughs at the possibility of Snow White, Cinderella and Jack and the Beanstalk being real.

Laurence Fishburne, who plays the school master, is seen training the new batch and telling them where the graduates of the school stand and how they live the very “real events” which become stories that change the world.

Friends Agatha and Sophie, played by Sophia Anne Caruso, face challenges as one of them ends up in the school for good while the other discovers her evil traits in search of feeling special. The Magic Mirror was also seen in the two-minute long trailer that unveils Sophie as the antagonist who is not only “the fairest of them all” but also the strongest. However, if she discovers her true potential, the special fairies and villains may not survive.

The cast also includes Kerry Washington, Cate Blanchett as the narrator, Michelle Yeoh, Ben Kingsley, Patti LuPone, Rachel Bloom, Kit Young, Ali Khan, Mark Heap, Earl Cave and more.

The film is being directed by Paul Feig who is known for films like Bridesmaids, Last Christmas, The Heat and Ferdinand. The film will be releasing exclusively on Netflix on October 19.
