‘Kill all joy’: Aamna Ilyas, Ayesha Omar call out protest to close family park in Bannu

"Instead of forbidding women to go to the park and advocate for closures, these men need to be banned," wrote the model.

A large number of people, mostly clerics and seminary students, held a demonstration on Sunday in Bannu to press the local administration to close down the city’s family park because women visiting recreational spaces was unacceptable to them. Celebrities Aamna Ilyas and Ayesha Omar have called these protesters our, saying these men are the “real threat to society”.

The protest leaders had said that women visiting recreational places was not acceptable to them, and asked the local administration to close down the park. They alleged that the establishment of the family park had promoted obscenity in the area. With a turn-up of hundreds of men outside the gate, the family park has now been closed.

Model Ilyas shared a post by Niche Lifestyle and wrote, “The levels these men will go. Now women visiting parks to breath fresh air or go for walks is considered obscene?? Instead of forbidding women to go to the park and advocate for closures these men need to be banned from these parks as they’re the real threat to society!”

TV host and actor Omar shared the same post and wrote, “Kill all joy. Close everything. Don’t breathe and don’t you dare go out in the sun. Why are we even alive?” she questioned.

We’re with Ilyas and Omar — let women go to the park in peace!

It's a terrible situation. A few bearded madmen are trying to outright ban the human existence of women.

If they are so pious, then how about advocating for women only time and no men allowed in the park?

Save the park and let ALL including women freely enjoy the park and free space. Clerics should don't belong in a park with their low level thinking.

@Imad Qureshi--- That is actually a very good idea for places like these .When there are hours for women only activities seal the gates and the EYES of men. I hope this works so everyone can live .

Better respect their culture than impose your (so-called)wisdom on them. If most people were against park closure than you would have found them on the roads.

I remember once in 1986 the student wing of a politico-religious party protested and got a science exhibition cancelled in Karachi because both girls and boys colleges had there exhibition stall in same hall.... things hasn't changed much....

@Abbas what about families that include a husband or grandfather or boys during women only hours should they go stay outside. So idea sound good but reality is different.

@Its me - let’s apply your logic in France and other western countries where people don’t like hijabi . They should respect French & western peoples opinion as well .

What those people are calling for is wrong. So is what Ayesha and Amina do. As for the guy pointing towards those people having beards. You are the unlucky one if you don't have one.
