Disney+ show Ms. Marvel may have come to an end with six episodes in total but directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah have bigger plans for Kamala Khan which may include a second season of the show. In an interview, they revealed it would be “great” to have another season of the series.

In an exclusive interview with Entertainment Weekly, the filmmakers behind the superhero show admitted that the show is not an exact replica of what was mentioned in the comic books about Kamala Khan’s powers. The finale episode featuring two iconic scenes — Kamala’s embiggen moment and the kids at school having a Home Alone moment with Damage Control.

Out of the many questions they also answered one that has been on everyone’s minds since the last episode released on Wednesday — will there be a season 2 for Ms. Marvel?

Now the directors of the first and last episodes of the show have said that it would be “great” to have a season 2 but they are waiting to see what happens in The Marvels first.

“We’ll see what happens with The Marvels, where Iman [Vellani] is there, too. If we can get the chance to explore more of her world and her friends and her family, there are more elements to the story. We can go even further,” said El Arbi.

They also talked about the post-credit scene with Brie Larson that they had no idea about. Similarly, the scene where Kamala finds out about the mutation being part of her genes was all Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, who wanted them to include the bits about Kamala but didn’t reveal the purpose of it. Hence, the directors are also confused as we are after watching the finale.

“Everything within the show we know, but everything outside or any connections, that’s a mystery,” the director said about Feige, additional scenes and revelations in the last episode of the show.

Ms. Marvel saw Vellani play Kamala Khan, a 16-year-old Pakistani-American teenager who lives in Jersey City. She is an aspiring artist, an avid gamer, and a voracious fan-fiction scribe. She is also a huge fan of the Avengers — and one in particular, Captain Marvel. But Kamala has always struggled to find her place in the world — that is until she gets super powers like the heroes she’s always looked up to.

Vellani’s character Kamala will be uniting with her idol Carol Danvers, played by Larson, in Marvel’s upcoming film The Marvels. The film is slating to release in summer on July 28, 2023.
